that was a participant in last night's demonstrations. one of many around the country showing support for trayvon martin. we are following the story all morning and the backlash that is following the jury finding george zimmerman not guilty. after 16-and-a-half hours of deliberating the six women jury reached the verdict late saturday night

immediately following the verdict's announcement, florida's state attorney struck a defiant tone while defending the prosecution's case against zimmerman. >> "what we always believed was that this was a case of details that had to be analyzed very, very carefully. i never could quite understand people even people with law degrees who had not read all of the police reports who had not read all of the witness statements, yet who came up with opinions one way or the other. and this team of people standing with me who stand with me every day in the 4th circuit and try tough cases like this all the time knew that we had to do the best to get the entire facts and details of this case out and before a jury." in the end, the jury in the george zimmerman trial either believed zimmerman's story-- or didn't feel the state proved it's case. after 16 and a half hours of

an all-female jury, as we now know, has found george shannon travis has more on verdict. after two days and more than 16 hours of deliberations, the jury reached its verdict.

"we the jury find the george zimmerman is now a free man. "you have no further business with the court" the nation's attention on february 26th, 2012, zimmerman, a 28 year-old neighborhood watch volunteer, calls police to report a suspicious person in a sanford, florida gated community. minutes later, the unarmed teenager trayvon martin is shot and killed. "my heart hurts for my son." zimmerman claimed martin attacked him and he was acting in self-defense. the martin family believed race was a driving factor. zimmerman was arrested in april 2012 and charged with second degree murder and pleaded not guilty. "i felt sorry that they lost their child, yes" the 14-day trial began in late june of this year.

dozens have testified for both the prosection and the defense. the prosection argued zimmerman did not have to kill martin, "the defendant didn't shoot trayvon martin because he had to. he shot him because he wanted to." the defense, meanwhile, said the case against zimmerman was weak. i can ho h all around the country. you're watching video right now from protests in chicago, and the capitol, washington d.c., tallahassee florida and philadelphia. authorities around the country were prepared for widespread protests and even riots. police in sanford, florida said they were prepared for a reaction like the riots that broke out after the rodney king verdict in los angeles 20 years ago. in many of these videos you can hear the protesors chanting, "no justice, no peace."

but despite that cry, most of the protests against the verdict have in fact been peaceful. george zimmerman's brother has been an outspoken supporter since the following the jury's announcement, robert expressed his feelings towards the martin family. >>i expressed our condolences as a family last year. and i think it would be remiss of me not to say i understand tonight -- i understand their pain and there are no winners. they will not win or lose anything more than is their son's life by any kind of verdict for george. i applaud them for asking for the verdict to be respected. it's the same thing our family did. i would ask them to reflect quietly as a family which we do and i will pray for them. and stay with kron four as we continue to cover the

yes if you use to following the freeway numbers like interstate 580 west or even interstate 80 east you are good however if you follow the freeway sign by city names like san francisco or sanso instead of going east you might end up crossing the bay bridge because of confusion freeway sign tagging is nothing new, infact taggers have been bombing pretty much everything for decades like these directional signs telling you which freeway to all these cost taxpayers money and are an eyesore many times the taggers record their misdeeds and upload what they to do to social media sites you are looking at video i found on youtube of just such deeds where they are vandalizing various places vandialism of state property or anyone's property without they know this i spoke on the phone with caltrans and they say the signs are treated with a removed so replacing the signs will not be required

casey wian spoke to experts about how investigators will use the evidence collected at the wreck site to piece together what happened. accident investigators now looking into the asiana crash got their training here according to u-s-c's aviation safety program. inside an old sears warehouse. where the twisted wreckage of plane crashes serves as a usc classroom for aviation accident investigators. >> "what you see here is a safety system that has failed." instructors took me through part of the training. "what strikes you with this aircraft?" : "well, what strikes me is there was a big fire here and it doesn't look like anyone could have survived it." "you look over there and what do you see?" : "well, i see twisted metal. it looks like some kind of significant trauma happened to that wing, crashed into something, hit something, i don't know, a pole?"
